The Role
My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Payable Manager on a permanent basis.
Along with strong people management skills, candidates will need to have a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
Experience using Business Central would be a distinct advantage
Candidates will need to have strong Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the full AP cycle, from invoice receipt to payment.
Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.
Reconciling accounts to supplier statements on a regular basis to ensure accounts are kept up to date.
Monitor outstanding payables and manage cash flow accordingly.
Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate recording of AP transactions, accruals, and reconciliations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices, payments, or vendor terms.
Internal controls:
Ensure internal controls are sufficient to prevent against fraud and error.
Continuously assess existing processes to identify control gaps, compliance risks, and improvement opportunities.
System and process improvement:
Implement and enhance AP processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Utilise accounting software and ERP systems to support automation.
Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations, including documentation of procedures.
Team leadership and development:
Lead, mentor, and develop the AP team.
Set clear objectives and KPIs of the AP team.
Take corrective action if objectives or KPIs are not being met.
Train new staff and provide ongoing support to existing team members.
The Person
Key Skills:
5–7 years’ experience in accounts payable or accounting roles, including at least 5 years in a management capacity.
Demonstrated experience transforming and improving AP functions.
Good organisation, someone self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
Good communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central advantageous.
