Accounts Assistant Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Manager and contribute to the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* To manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payments and maintaining accurate records.
* To raise sales invoices and ensure that all sales are captured and processed correctly.
* To prepare VAT returns and assist with year-end accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
* To investigate discrepancies in invoice totals and work with colleagues to balance all accounts.
* To prepare monthly financial reports and related correspondence, providing insights into our financial performance.
* To manage accounts receivable and credit collections, ensuring prompt payment from customers.
* To perform weekly bank reconciliations and analyze account variances, identifying areas for improvement.
* To contribute to special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* 1-2 years' experience working as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Diploma preferred, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
* Accounting Technician qualification is an advantage but not essential, with IT literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
