AsFlight Operations Technical Manager, you will be responsible for turning technical data and regulatory requirements into practical procedures that keep flying safely and efficiently. You will manage key flight operations manuals, analyse aircraft performance, and support approvals such as ETOPS/EDTO and RNP. Your work will shape SOPs and training, strengthen safety investigations and audits, and ensure full compliance with industry standards.Acting as the main technical link between manufacturers, regulators, and internal teams, you will play a vital role in safeguarding daily operations and driving the airline's operational excellence.This role is ideal for experienced Captains or First Officers (ATPL with B737 type rating, active or expired) seeking to leverage their technical and operational knowledge in a strategic capacity without current line flying or an active medical.Key ResponsibilitiesManuals & DocumentationDevelop, review, and update OM-B, QRH, FCOM supplements, and MEL/CDL proceduresEnsure alignment of manufacturer documentation with airline procedures and regulatory requirementsProvide technical input for Operations Manual revisionsOperational SupportConduct performance analyses (take-off, landing, payload, fuel policy)Support ETOPS/EDTO, RNP, RVSM, and MNPS approvalsAdvise on operational limitations, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and impact on flight operationsTraining and ProceduresSupport NPCT with technical content for type ratings and recurrent trainingDevelop SOPs and simulator scenarios addressing technical issuesProvide instructor/examiner support as requiredSafety & ComplianceContribute to hazard identification and risk assessments (Safety Management System)Provide input for Flight Data Monitoring/FDM-FOQA investigationsSupport compliance monitoring audits in operations and technical domainsLiaison DutiesServe as the focal point with manufacturers on technical operations mattersSupport NPFO in communications with IAACAARepresent the airline in industry working groups and manufacturer forumsOther DutiesMaintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with company standardsMinimise environmental impact and ensure regulatory adherenceRemain prepared as an ERP representative in crisis situationsEssential Skills, Qualifications & ExperienceATPL with B737 type rating (active or expired; suitable for those not currently flying or without a current medical)Minimum 10 years' line experience as Captain or First OfficerStrong knowledge of aircraft performance and systems, OM-B, MEL, QRHExperience in SMS, compliance, and auditingProven ability to analyse, interpret technical data, and prepare operational documentation/manualsExcellent communication and liaison skills with regulators, manufacturers, internal stakeholdersStrong analytical and decision-making skillsEnglish ICAO Level 4 or aboveDesirable Skills & ExperienceExperience with multiple aircraft types beyond B737Familiarity with advanced navigation/performance tools (RNP, PBN, ETOPS planning software)Advanced data analysis and FDM toolsStrong project management and organisational skillsCommercial awareness and excellent team managementConfident, approachable, and tenacious; self-motivated and proactiveTeam player, able to work autonomouslyFlexibility to travel and work outside normal hours as required
