The Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapy team in this hospital delivers high-quality, evidence-based services to adults across all acute care areas including Stroke, Age-Related Care, Critical Care, Respiratory, General Medicine, and Surgery.

Key Responsibilities
">
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide therapy for patients with communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing difficulties.
* Manage a senior caseload including stroke, neurological conditions, progressive disease, and acutely ill elderly patients.
* Deliver specialist dysphagia interventions using evidence-based best practice.
* Work closely with the MDT (medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy) to ensure holistic patient care.
* Provide training and education for hospital staff, patients, and families.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records; contribute to audits, research, and service improvement projects.
* Participate in supervision and ongoing CPD.

Essential Requirements
">
* Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy
* CORU registration (or eligibility)
* Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with significant clinical practice in an acute hospital setting.
* Dysphagia qualification and substantial acute experience in assessment and management.
* Experience in stroke, neurology, and/or other acute care specialties.
* Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, acute hospital environment.
