Responsibilities
* Assist management in daily store operations and take responsibility for day-to-day running in their absence.
* Open and close the store, manage end-of-day recovery, deliveries, stock, and financial transactions.
* Assign tasks to colleagues and ensure procedures are followed.
* Provide personal and positive service experiences to every customer.
* Maintain full knowledge of products and current promotions.
* Engage with customers to offer the best products for their needs and optimize sales.
* Lead by example in implementing and maintaining excellent visual merchandising standards.
* Utilize various tools, including Assisted Selling, Safesize, e-receipts, and radio systems.
* Coordinate cash, stock, financial reports, and administration in the absence of management.
* Manage daily deliveries and stock procedures.
* Ensure end-of-day recovery meets company standards.
* Carry out other retail duties, including sales, customer experience, recovery, deliveries, etc.
* Operate tills and handle financial transactions.
* Deliver a great last impression to customers.
* Monitor potential shoplifters and follow security guidelines.
* Be a backup call-out person in case of alarm activation.
* Take responsibility for personal development and seek opportunities for improvement.
* Carry out training as required.
* Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
* Minimum two years' retail experience required.
* A warm, friendly, and engaging personality is essential.
* Great communication skills, outgoing, energetic, and focused on delivering a great customer experience.
* Strong product knowledge.
* Experience in visual merchandising desirable.
* Ability to manage workload and delegate tasks.
* Must be trustworthy and honest.
* Proficient computer skills, particularly Excel, Word, and email.
* Available to work at least one Sunday in four.
* Initiative to undertake additional tasks as required.
