YMCA Dublin has been working with young people in Dublin's Inner City for over 175 years. We deliver programmes in youth work, education, family support, community childcare and community employment. To support our services, we run two social enterprises – Dublin YMCA Gym and Childcare in Aungier Street.Service Area: Fitness Location: Aungier StreetResponsible to: Sports Centre ManagerShift times required: 4 days mid week shifts, with occasional weekend work. Candidate must be flexible, early morning start for this role from 7:30am / 8:00am. Evening shift finishes at 10pm.Role Description: This position on the Community Employment scheme is a development opportunity for an individual interested in working in the fitness industry. This role covers both fitness and reception duties.The successful candidate will be responsible for clerical, administrative and customer service support in order to ensure that fitness and front of house services are provided in an effective and efficient manner. Working as part of a dynamic team in a fast paced environment the successful candidate will report to the Sports Centre Manager and will be responsible for dealing with public enquiries and administrative support to the Fitness and Facilities management team.Primary ResponsibilitiesTo work at Aungier Street on an agreed rota.Complete both Reception and Fitness duty requirementsReception duties include:Ensure all visitors to the YMCA are welcomed with a friendly and professional manner. Providing all customers/visitors with the information they required in a timely and professional manner following all YMCA systems & policies.Answering telephone and email enquiries.Data input - updating KPI's and database updating.Hiring of equipment, taking of deposits, selling goods and product upsales, maintaining an excellent product knowledge of the services available at both YMCA sports Centres.Deal with general enquiries including facilities and or gym via email telephone and / or in person.Fitness duties include:Shadow fitness instructors and observe fitness classes formats.Monitor & enforce health & safety of all equipment and fitness facilities.Promote YMCA Fitness promotions, packages and facility rental and follow and help develop YMCA fitness policies.To have a presence on the gym floor that enhances the customer's experience as they arrive and train, offering advice, technique tips and ensuring customers get the best experience possible.To carry out comprehensive induction programmes ensuring customers are fully aware of how to use the equipment safely and the best way for them to reach their fitness goals without injury.To provide information on all services delivered by YMCA including promotions & our Social Enterprise status.To ensure the gym is at a high standard of cleanliness.Attend training sessions of both industry standard and health & safety qualifications.PERSON SPECIFICATIONDesire to teach a wide range of exercise classes to music including spin, circuits, bootcamp etc.Enthusiastic personality to encourage gym members achieve their fitness goalsInterest in exercise, health and nutrition.Excellent customer care skills.Computer SkillsExcellent communication skills- interpersonal and written - with the ability to identify problems and formulate solutionsUniform providedCertified Training providedEligibility for the Community Employment Scheme is necessary.Eligibility and application can be achieved at the Intreo office.Job Type: Part-timePay: €271.50 per weekExpected hours: 19.5 per weekBenefits:ChildcareGym membershipOn-site gymApplication question(s):Are you eligible for the Community Employment Scheme?Work Location: In person
