Position Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed SHE professional to contribute to ESB's safe delivery of Net Zero ****.
A key responsibility of the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Function is the management of a clear standards framework for managing key risks and providing assurance that all business areas are meeting the requirements.
The SHE Assurance Manager plays a crucial role in the effective management of SHE risks.
The role is responsible for developing and leading the delivery of the SHE Assurance Framework as the Second Line of Defense for ESB.
This involves collaboration with all First Line Business Units to provide increased assurance in relation to the management of key risks and involves strategic oversight and stakeholder engagement to drive, champion, monitor and report on SHE Governance, Risk & Compliance practices across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the ongoing assessment and management of Group SHE Policies and Standards, ensuring ongoing assessment and management of SHE risks.
Further develop the SHE Second Line Assurance Framework, to align with the Group Governance, Risk & Compliance Framework.
Develop, deliver and lead a programme of SHE Assurance audits (including external ISO ***** and ***** audits) across ESB in conjunction with each Business Unit (BU) to monitor compliance with Group SHE Policies and Standards.
Provide strategic advice and leadership guidance to support key stakeholders on SHE matters, including reporting on Health & Safety key assurance metrics to Executive Committee (ExCo) & BU Senior Management Teams (SMTs).
Oversee Second Line SHE Risk & Compliance activities.
Monitor and oversee incident investigation across ESB including findings and recommendations.
Drive continuous improvement in SHE Assurance processes, including leveraging digital and data solutions where relevant.
Experience and Qualifications
A Third level qualification in safety, environment, engineering, or equivalent experience is essential.
Minimum 10+ years' previous health and safety experience or relevant industry experience.
Strong understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment, and hazard prevention.
Practical experience in safety management or a related field is crucial.
Experience in managing people.
Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, and leadership.
Knowledge and experience of safety and environment assurance methodologies.
Knowledge and experience of ISO ***** and ***** Standards.
Location
This position will be based in ESB Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam St, Dublin 2.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week.
All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

Salary
€86,300 - €101,600 per annum (depending on experience)
