The Role Profile We are seeking an ambitious and driven professional to effectively lead within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to the success of the business.
The Quality Systems & Compliance Manager will lead Ei Electronics' compliance strategy to ensure that all products, processes, and operations meet the applicable laws, regulations and standards.
He/she will be responsible for implementing and maintaining QEHS management systems that will drive continual improvement and minimise operational risks.
The role is critical to maintaining Ei Electronics' reputation for the highest standards in quality, safety, and environmental responsibility while ensuring readiness for audits and meeting both legal and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities ISO ***** Health & Safety Management Maintain and continually improve the company's ISO ***** Health & Safety Management System in line with legislative requirements and industry best practice.
Ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety regulations.
Conduct and oversee risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive action plans.
Promote a safety-first culture through training, awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement.
ISO ***** - Environmental Management Manage the company's ISO ***** certification, ensuring ongoing compliance and continual improvement.
Identify and assess environmental risks related to production processes, materials, and waste management, and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor environmental KPIs and ensure alignment with sustainability goals.
Track and interpret changes in environmental laws and regulations, ensuring proactive compliance.
Liaise with environmental regulatory bodies and maintain required permits and records.
ISO **** - Quality Management Maintain and enhance the company's ISO **** certification and Quality Management System (QMS).
Oversee internal audit programmes and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure audit compliance.
Oversee document control processes, ensuring all policies, procedures, and work instructions are current, approved, and communicated.
Oversee the calibration program for measuring and monitoring equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Product Regulatory Approvals Manage and coordinate all global product approvals for our products, including CE, UKCA, UL, EN standards, and other regional certifications.
Liaise with test laboratories, notified bodies, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely approvals and renewals.
Maintain a compliance register and approval database to ensure traceability and readiness for market entry.
Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements in key markets and proactively assess impacts.
Leadership & Governance Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
Serve as the company's primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, auditors, and certification bodies.
Prepare and deliver reports to senior management on compliance status, risks, and improvement plans.
Lead cross-departmental compliance initiatives to ensure alignment between R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams.
The Person Qualifications & Experience Degree in Engineering, Quality, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in compliance, quality, or regulatory affairs, ideally within manufacturing or electronics.
Proven experience managing ISO certification programmes.
Strong knowledge of product safety standards and regulatory approvals for smoke and/or CO alarms (EN *****, EN *****, UL 217, etc.) an advantage.
Familiarity with EU, UK, and global regulatory frameworks.
Skills & Competencies Exceptional knowledge of compliance management systems.
Strong leadership and influencing skills across all organisational levels.
Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
Effective communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to prepare clear compliance reports.
Strong project management and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in MS Office and compliance management tools.
