TELUS Health is committed to empowering individuals to live their healthiest lives. We leverage innovative technology and focus on the uniqueness of each person to shape the future of health. As a leading global health and well-being provider—covering physical, mental, and financial health—TELUS Health aims to improve health outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers, and employees.
We offer comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, providing emotional and practical support to client companies and their employees. Our counsellors deliver face-to-face short-term counselling services.
The Role:
* Manage online referrals promptly and accept or decline cases within specified timeframes.
* Contact clients to schedule initial appointments within agreed timelines.
* Provide short-term counselling, typically 3 to 8 sessions, depending on the case.
* Deliver timely written and verbal feedback and case notes.
* Report any risks to our Case Management Team.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Qualifications, Supervision, Insurance, and Therapeutic Venue:
* Registered or accredited by a professional counselling body (e.g., IACP, PSI, ICP, APCP, IAHIP) or equivalent.
* If not accredited, qualified to Diploma level, a registered member of a professional counselling body, with at least 3 years post-qualification experience and 450 counselling hours.
* Ability to work within a theoretical approach suitable for short-term counselling and within an EAP context.
* Demonstrate regular professional clinical supervision.
* Maintain professional indemnity insurance of at least €1,000,000.
* Have access to a dedicated, suitable consulting room that is discreet, not used as living space, with a neutral ambiance.
* Provide a suitable waiting area or manage appointments to ensure client confidentiality and comfort.
* Answerphone with a clear outgoing message identifying yourself as a counsellor.
Training and Experience:
* Skilled in assessing presenting issues and support planning.
* Experienced in short-term counselling focusing on solutions and coping skills.
* Previous EAP experience preferred but not essential; experience in private practice, G.P. surgeries, student counselling, or workplace counselling is also valuable.
* Awareness of organizational dynamics and work-related issues.
* Ability to refer clients to other supports and knowledge of local resources.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, email, and TELUS Health online systems.
Working with TELUS Health Procedures:
* Understand and agree to follow case management procedures, including handling 'at-risk' cases and private contracts.
* Work collaboratively with the Case Management team and provide timely feedback via email, phone, and paperwork.
