Job Title: Accounts Assistant Receivable
Location: Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise, County Laois
Reports to: Assistant Financial Controller Overview: Midlands Park Hotel is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Income Audit Accounts Assistant to join our finance team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, reviewing income streams, and supporting the accounting functions of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities: Income Auditing:
Perform daily income audits by reviewing revenue reports, verifying income, and reconciling discrepancies.Ensure that all revenue streams (rooms, F&B, banquets, spa, etc.)
are accurately accounted for and documented.Investigate variances between expected and actual income, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.Prepare daily and monthly income audit reports for management review.Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and reports.Support the month-end and year-end close processes by providing accurate income audit reports.Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other regulatory financial filings.Accounts Support:
Assist the finance team with general accounting duties, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations.Assist in bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and cash management.Compliance and Best Practices:
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and accounting policies.Maintain confidentiality of financial data and adhere to hotel policies.Collaboration:
Work closely with the hotel's finance, operations, and management teams to improve financial procedures and reporting accuracy.Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as needed.Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within the hospitality industry.Knowledge of income auditing processes and accounting principles.Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Desirable Skills:
Previous experience in hotel finance or income auditing would be an advantage.Experience using hotel property management systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
