Our client, is a growing financial services business in the insurance sector. Their head office is in Dublin but they are experiencing strong international growth particularly in the UK and Europe. The role will be based in Dublin but also includes hybrid / work from home. Due to recent and anticipated future growth, they are looking to appoint a Financial Controller. This role will work closely with the Senior Leadership of the business, and the successful applicant will be joining during an exciting period of growth. You will most likely be a Finance Manager or Financial Controller in an insurance or similar financial services / regulated business. If a Finance Manager (or highly experienced Senior Financial Accountant), you will be ambitious and looking for an opportunity to progress your career, have ownership of a team and helping a business grow. If already a Financial Controller, you will be seeking a role where your experience can positively impact the business, and where you will partner closely with a Senior Leadership team, providing excellent strategic advice while still ensuring strong compliance and regulatory management. The Role: Oversee monthly management accounting, annual budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing accurate and timely insights for decision-making. Working closely with the Senior Leadership team, providing strategic financial advice and support. Oversee cash flow, liquidity to optimise performance, including bank reconciliations, and FX. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Central Bank of Ireland submissions. Responsible for annual statutory financial statements and managing the external audit process. Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, supporting their development.. Oversee tax compliance for the Irish and UK entities. Improve internal financial controls and processes. Take a lead role in any future financial system upgrades or improvements. Contribute to the continued development and success of the business. The Person: Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). 5+ years post-qualification experience within a financial services business, with insurance an advantage, although other FS sectors will be considered. Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller. Experience working within a regulated entity, and has previous exposure to relevant returns Previous experience managing and developing teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver to deadlines.
