Our client is seeking a bright, enthusiastic, and ambitious Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team in Limerick. This position is ideal for an aspiring accountant currently pursuing ACCA (or an equivalent qualification) who is looking to build practical experience across key finance functions. With a new ERP system being introduced, you will also gain valuable project exposure and play an active role in improving finance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Record and retrieve financial data, ensuring accurate monthly records.
* Process payments, manage cash handling, and support Accounts Payable, including supplier reconciliations.
* Prepare monthly and annual reports, post month-end journals, and review general ledger activity for accuracy.
* Support year-end preparation and procedures.
* Analyse key Accounts Receivable accounts and reconcile bank accounts across multiple currencies.
* Perform cost accounting analysis, including investigation of variances.
* Support VAT submissions across Ireland, the UK, and the Netherlands.
* Assist with the implementation of the company's new ERP system through data validation, testing, and user support.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Currently studying towards ACCA (or a similar professional qualification) with strong progress to date.
* Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proactive and eager to learn, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* A collaborative team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
* Comfortable working across multiple systems; exposure to ERP systems is an advantage.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office; familiarity with finance systems and reporting tools is beneficial.
