ATG are seeking an experienced
Resident Engineer
to oversee the delivery of a civil engineering project in Claremorris.
The successful candidate will act as the client's on-site representative, ensuring the works are carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, monitor, and inspect the works on-site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Act as the main liaison between the contractor, client, and design team.
Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation.
Maintain detailed daily site records, reports, and progress updates.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Monitor project progress against programme and identify potential delays or risks.
Attend and chair site meetings as required.
Provide technical support and advice to the client and project team.
Certify works for payment and assist with change control, variations, and claims assessment.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with Engineers Ireland (desirable).
Minimum 5+ years' experience in civil engineering, with at least 2 years in a Resident Engineer or similar supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, quality control, and contract administration (FIDIC, IEI, or Public Works Contracts experience advantageous).
Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with AutoCAD and project management software an advantage.
Full clean driving licence.
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders.
Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced project environment.
