Principal Objectives of Position To promote and improve the companys culture and policies in relation to Environmental compliance. To ensure that procedures and environmental documents are maintained and updated. To ensure that the company and its management team are guided on best practice in terms of the environment. You will work within a professional and positive orientated EHS team, supported by the wider company. Respnsibilities Provide Environmental advice to senior management and colleagues. Liaising with operations and other departments on a daily basis to ensure that the conditions of the licences and permits are adhered to. Schedule and carry out Environmental monitoring, sampling and reporting for 2 EPA facilities in accordance with the site licences and 3 permitted facilities. Preparation of monthly and annual environmental reports and response letters to the EPA and local authorities. Preparation of quarterly reports to the WERLA and NWCPO. Liaising with the EPA, council enforcement officers and NWCPO officers. Environmental administration, including: acceptance letters to customers withing to tip on site, responses to technical customer queries. Environmental Complaint investigation, reporting, determining corrective action and response to customers or regulator. Maintenance of the company waste collection permit. Updating waste collection permit with new destinations and new lorries as necessary Carry out internal audits and assist with maintaining the company Environment ISO certificate (ISO14001). Scheduling and reviewing environmental contractor reports ( fire risk assessments, Drainage CCTV etc). Revision and updating of internal environmental reports (CRAMP, ELRA, WSP, Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Noise monitoring) Producing Monthly internal reports using recognised KPIs Working with other Environmental and H&S officers within the company to cover annual leave. Any other relevant Environmental tasks as discussed with the EHS Manager. Job Specification Have a Science or Engineering Degree/Diploma. 3-5 years previous experience in similar Environmental compliance role. Full Driving License and your own vehicle. Salary dependent on experience Competencies: A positive attitude to finding solutions to challenges and an ability to produce relevant and workable solutions. Applicant needs to be confident and be able to effectively communicate with general staff and to senior management as well as regulatory staff. Excellent organisational and administrative skills. Applicant must be structured in their approach to tasks and able to record and track tasks and duties as they are progressed and completed across multiple sites. Knowledge.
