You will act as the key client representative within the main contractor team, providing leadership across a large, complex site with multiple concurrent projects.
The opportunity
You will lead and continuously improve established EHS programmes, embedding a strong culture of safety, compliance and sustainability across brownfield construction and commissioning activities on a live manufacturing site. Working closely with the main contractor's team, you will report directly into the client's EHS function and provide strategic guidance and day-to-day oversight for a sizeable team of Safety Advisors.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and enhance existing EHS programmes, promoting proactive safety and sustainability on site.
* Conduct regular site audits, produce clear reports and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
* Maintain full compliance with the client's global health, safety and environmental standards, as well as relevant local regulations.
* Review RAMS and PSCS documentation for all interface works within the live plant.
* Oversee EHS compliance for the main contractor and subcontractors, acting as the client's on-site representative.
* Lead accident and incident investigations, using root cause analysis to identify underlying causes and define corrective and preventive actions.
* Report EHS performance and KPIs to senior client management, highlighting trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
* Provide strong leadership, coaching and direction to a team of approximately 15 Safety Advisors on site, implementing improvement plans as required.
About you
* Diploma (NFQ Level 8) in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
* 10+ years' brownfield construction experience in a live plant environment, ideally including in-house interface work with existing operations.
* At least 5 years of project/construction experience on live plants, with exposure to Electrical, Mechanical, CSA and commissioning activities.
* Experience with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001, including involvement in audits.
* Strong knowledge of current Construction Regulations and their practical application on complex sites.
* Proven track record of leading incident investigations using structured root cause analysis.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead a team of EHS professionals in a constantly changing environment.
If you are a senior EHS professional with strong leadership skills and extensive brownfield construction experience in live plant environments, this would suit you.
