Food Safety & Quality Coordinator

We have an opportunity for a Food Safety and Quality Retail Coordinator to join our team in Cork. The role is a hybrid role with a blend of in store operational/retail support and office work, based in Cork Office.
As, Food Safety and Quality Retail Technical Coordinator you will ensure that ensure that Food Safety & Quality activities within our retail partner stores are effectively managed and co-ordinated across the business thereby ensuring that Retail Food Safety standards are best in class at all times. The role includes specific operational activities as well as long term strategic development projects
You will be responsible for aligning the Musgrave technical policy requirements to food safety legislative requirements and ensuring that the customer and industry food safety standards are met.
Key areas of responsibility (not limited to):
* Tracking ongoing Retail Food Safety Audit performance across Musgrave Retail Partner sites
* Conducting in store audits and resolving audit issues & queries
* Liaison with the audit provider on scheduling matters
* Reporting performance against targets to Stakeholders
* Conduct store support visits / Food Safety Audits to maintain and improve operational Food Safety standards and to ensure brand standards are upheld
* Conduct risk assessments on any new initiatives being introduced to the retail environment
* Provide on site training to retail colleagues in the area of Food Safety
* Proactively support and upskill retail colleagues
* Provide head office support to stores in the form of local supplier reviews, documentation updates, training sessions, trend evaluation and identification
* Work collaboratively with the wider Food Safety and Quality team on key strategic projects
* Representing the Food Safety & Quality Department on teams across the business, to influence on FS&Q issues
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
* 3-5 years’ experience in Food Technical Role
* Proven track record in managing food safety and compliance in a retail / manufacturing environment
* Strong communication skills
* Experienced in providing training and one to one feedback on performance
* Working knowledge of retail operating environment
* Experience with MS Office
* Flexible approach
* Ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise effectively and deliver high quality results
* Ability to build relationships
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Food Science / Food Technology degree, or similar qualification
* Full clean driving licence
Desirable
* Previous experience in a food retail environment
* Auditing experience
* Train the trainer qualification
* Food retail consulting/ advisory experience
