Based in Cork, Ireland, we're currently seeking our new Materials Coordinator.
Overall responsibility
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for receiving, coordinating, and managing the flow of materials and components to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations. This role ensures that the right materials are available in the correct quantities to support production and project schedules. The Materials Coordinator also manages the processing, fulfilment, and shipping of customer spare parts orders while maintaining accurate inventory records.
Role's activities
* Coordinate the receiving, storage, and distribution of materials and components
* Support production by accurately kitting materials and components for instrument builds in accordance with build schedules and bills of materials (BOMs)
* Process and ship customer spare part orders
* Communicate daily with both internal and external stakeholders
* Maintain accurate inventory records using SAGE ERP
* Work closely with purchasing, production and mechanical design teams
* Identify material shortages and resolve supply issues promptly
* Prepare inventory reports and documentation
* Ensure materials are stored and handled according to safety and quality standards
* Support cost control efforts by minimizing waste and excess inventory
General
* Complies with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements (e.g. SOP's, Employee Handbook, etc.) as well as contractual agreements
* Availability to work flexible hours as needed
* Possess problem analysis and problem resolution ability at both a strategic and a functional level
* Performs other duties as assigned
Experience
* Proven warehouse experience
* Recognized third-level qualification, or demonstrable relevant industry experience
* Knowledge of inventory control systems and stock management procedures
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Experience using ERP systems for inventory control, sales, and reporting
* Familiarity with generating reports
