Role Overview:
Prime Service Tech is working on multi-year growth initiative and consent order data remediation deliverables. As part of this, we are expanding our platform offering to markets quants and product development to build analytics using Python, hosting new data platform, creating new data pipelines, and building robust monitoring and observability capabilities for Prime Tech. The hands-on development lead will work on building data pipelines, creating APIs to access data, working closely with product development, quants, and other teams within Prime Services Technology. The candidate will also lead a small team of employees and contractors in Dublin, collaborating with the NY-based team to support the platform.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Partner with management teams to ensure integration of functions to meet goals and identify system enhancements for new products and process improvements.
2. Resolve complex business and system process problems through evaluation and industry standards.
3. Provide expertise in application programming, ensuring adherence to architecture blueprints.
4. Develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
5. Understand how business areas like architecture and infrastructure integrate to achieve goals.
6. Analyze issues and develop innovative solutions.
7. Lead a team of developers, supervise tasks, and provide technical and career guidance.
8. Assess risks in business decisions, ensure compliance, and manage control issues transparently.
Qualifications:
* 8-10 years of hands-on development experience.
* At least 5 years as a lead developer on Java backends.
* Knowledge of big data platforms and data pipeline development.
* Proficiency in design patterns and coding skills.
* Experience with latest Java versions, data structures, Linux, Bash scripting, RDBMS, NoSQL, columnar databases, file formats like Parquet, Avro, ORC, Iceberg.
* Experience with Microservice Architecture, Containerization, Orchestration, telemetry tools (OpenTelemetry, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus), Kafka, MQ.
* Prior experience in Capital Markets trade processing is a plus.
* Leadership and project management skills.
* Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
