Reports To: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager / Construction Manager
Job Purpose
The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all construction, installation, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, drawings, applicable codes, standards, and client quality requirements. The role focuses on preventing defects, ensuring compliance, and supporting successful handover of works.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance (QA)
Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with:
Approved drawings
Method statements
Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
Client and statutory requirements
Review and approve quality documentation including:
Method Statements
ITPs
Risk Assessments (RAMS)
Monitor subcontractor quality systems and compliance.
Participate in quality audits (internal and external).
Promote a right-first-time culture on site.
Quality Control (QC)
Carry out inspections and witness tests at defined hold and witness points.
Ensure materials delivered to site comply with specifications and certifications.
Identify non-conformances and raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
Track, verify, and close out NCRs and corrective actions.
Ensure workmanship meets required standards at each construction stage.
Monitor installation tolerances, workmanship quality, and finish standards.
Verify as-built records are accurate and complete.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain quality records including:
Inspection reports
Test results
Material certificates
Calibration certificates
Compile and support handover documentation / quality dossiers.
Prepare weekly and monthly QA/QC reports for management and clients.
Ensure document control procedures are followed.
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with:
Project Managers
Site Managers
Engineers
Subcontractors
Client QA/QC representatives
Attend site meetings, inspections, and walk-downs.
Support commissioning and snagging activities.
Assist with client inspections and final acceptance.
Health, Safety & Environment
Ensure quality activities align with HSE policies and site safety rules.
Stop work and report any quality-related safety concerns.
Promote safe working practices and compliance with site procedures.

Skills & Competencies
Working Conditions
Site-based role, often outdoors or within active construction areas
May require:
Proven experience in a QA/QC role within construction or industrial projects.
Strong understanding of:
Construction drawings and specifications
Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
NCR processes
Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. ISO 9001).
Ability to work independently on site.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Data Centres (M&E, CSA experience)

ISO 9001 Internal Auditor
CSCS / ECS / Site Safety Pass
Trade or Engineering Qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil)

Competent with MS Office and document control systems
