Person in Charge (PIC)
Maybourne Care
| Ballybay, Co. Monaghan
This isn't just another PIC role.
This is a chance to
build something meaningful from day one
.
Maybourne Care
is a new residential and respite provider for adults with intellectual disabilities, founded on a simple belief:
care should feel like family
. Not performative. Not box-ticking. Real, human, respectful care - the kind you'd want for someone you love.
We're opening our first location in Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, and we're looking for a
Person in Charge
who wants more than a job title. We want someone who wants
ownership, pride, and purpose
- someone who will live and breathe the service as if it were their own.
The role (in plain English)
You'll be the heartbeat of the house.
Yes, you'll be the registered Person in Charge.
Yes, you'll ensure HIQA compliance and strong governance.
But more importantly, you'll
shape the culture
, lead the team, build trust with families, and create a home where people feel safe, known, and valued.
This is a
hands-on leadership role
. You'll set standards, model values, and make sure care is delivered with consistency, warmth, and dignity - every day, not just on inspection week.
What you'll be responsible for
* Leading and developing a committed staff team who genuinely care about the people they support
* Overseeing the day-to-day running of the centre, including staffing, rosters, governance, and quality
* Ensuring full compliance with HIQA regulations and the National Standards
* Creating a calm, safe, well-run home where residents can live meaningful, ordinary lives
* Building strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, professionals, and regulators
* Embedding person-centred, rights-based care in how the service actually operates - not just how it's written
* Playing a key role in shaping
Maybourne Care
as we grow beyond this first location
Who this role will suit
This role is for you if:
* You're an experienced PIC or step-up manager in disability services
* You care deeply about
how
care is delivered, not just whether policies are signed
* You want autonomy and responsibility - and you're comfortable being accountable
* You're values-led, calm under pressure, and respected by the teams you lead
* You're excited by the idea of joining something early and helping shape its future
If you're looking for a cosy number where nothing ever changes, this won't be it.
If you want to build a service you're genuinely proud of - it might be.
Essential experience & qualifications
