The Role: Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business and across the Local Authority user base.
IT Operations is responsible for all operational run activities across Applications, Operational Technology, Service Management and Infrastructure.
The Applications teams are responsible for implementing, upgrading and supporting all Uisce Éireann applications (C2 M, Maximo, Click, Syclo, Middleware, Oracle Financials, GIS, HR specific, Share Point and Service Now etc.).
including those built on the Dynamics 365 platform such as CDS, EIMS and SIMS.
The Applications teams also have a pivotal role to play in the implementation of new applications for the organisation, working with the IT Build & Delivery area.
Reporting to the LIMS Lead, the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Functional Analyst is responsible for supporting the Analysis, Development, Modification and Maintenance of the Labware LIMS system.
Within the scope of this role are all the data integrations between LIMS and other systems including Mobile Field Applications, UÉ Environmental systems, external EPA, Laboratory systems, Analytical Instruments and internal UÉ Asset Management systems.
The role is exciting, technically challenging, and rewarding with opportunities for cross training, upskilling and diversification within the Enterprise Application (EA) Team, IT Operations and the broader IT group.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Actively support IT operational activities to ensure smooth and efficient running of the Labware LIMS application and related services.
Build and maintain expertise in all the business processes and functional requirements supported by the Labware LIMS application Involvement in the design, architecture, build and testing of new systems for both business as usual and project initiatives Secondment to IT project teams as necessary and engagement with the Design & Strategy, Build & Delivery, Business Change teams.
Provide ongoing support and administration of the Labware LIMS system including troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrades.
Interaction with multiple external vendors, contractors and IT Managed Service providers Translate business/laboratory processes into LIMS workflow and Static/Master Data within Labware LIMSConduct acceptance testing procedures of new and updated functionalities while coordinating and supporting business requestors/change owners in confirming requirements, design, and build.
Manage and support change control activities Engage in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing for Labware LIMS.
Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to improve and streamline processes.
Create and update documentation including process maps, functional requirements and recovery run books.
Actively support the resolution of Incidents and Problems impacting business operations supported by the Labware LIMS application and align with internal ITL standards.
Management of the Labware LIMS queue(s) on Service Now including incident reporting and Analysis, with a particular focus on the resolution of technical issues.
Adherence to IT development procedures (SDLC) and standards and ensure compliance with GLP.
Keep abreast of industry trends and undertake technical training to maintain skills currency Provide out-of-hours cover as part of the Standby Rota as required and manage this across the team.
Other duties as required from time to time.
General Duties and Responsibilities: Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business, including but not limited to; Wider IT Teams, notably Service Management and Build & Delivery Teams Teams and end-users of the relevant systems Project Team members across various business units Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and experience: Relevant third level degree or equivalent with at least three years' relevant experience, ideally with a company in a related sector in a regulated environment.
Professional training\certification in Labware LIMS administration is desirable Relevant experience in the water industry is desirable In depth knowledge of Labware LIMS administration and system support including Background servers, Basic schedulers and Web LIMS services Experience working with SQL or LIMS querying tools is desirable Familiarity with Labware LIMSBasic is desirable Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others.
Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions.
