We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Financial Controller to join our high-performing Finance team.

REPORTING TO: Chief Financial Officer
Purpose of Role
The Group Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of multiple entities across Ireland, the UK, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
This role ensures compliance with local and international accounting standards, manages financial reporting, and supports strategic decision-making for the Executive team.
Role Responsibilities
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, including variance analysis and commentary for the Executive team.
Preparation of consolidated financial statements for six entities across multiple jurisdictions.
Commercial & Project Review
Collaborate with commercial teams to review construction project performance, profitability, and cost control.
Consolidate project financial data across multiple entities for accurate reporting and forecasting.
Provide insights on project margins, cash flow, and risk exposure to support decision-making.
Treasury Management
Oversee group cash flow and liquidity planning to ensure financial stability.
Manage 25+ bank and money market accounts across multiple jurisdictions.
Optimise working capital and monitor foreign exchange exposure.
Maintain strong relationships with banking partners and financial institutions.
Audit & Risk Management
Lead the annual audit process, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Ensure timely completion of statutory audits across all entities.
Maintain robust internal controls and compliance frameworks.
Insurance & Bonding
Manage the annual insurance renewal process, ensuring adequate coverage for all operations.
Act as the main point of contact for bond providers, maintaining relationships and ensuring compliance with bonding requirements.
Tax & Compliance
Manage tax compliance across Ireland, the UK, Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands, including VAT, payroll, and corporation tax.
Monitor regulatory changes and implement processes to maintain compliance.
Team Leadership
Manage and develop a team of seven finance professionals, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance and training on financial systems and best practices.
Process Improvement & Systems
Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within finance operations, leveraging technology and AI tools.
Maintain robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
Strategic Support
Partner with the Executive team to provide financial insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
Support budgeting and forecasting for group entities.
The Candidate
Minimum ******* years' experience in financial management, with multi-entity and multi-country exposure.
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant (or equivalent).
Experience in construction or related industries is desirable.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP across relevant jurisdictions.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with tax compliance across multiple European jurisdictions.
Interest in leveraging AI and automation to streamline finance processes.
