Sky Staffing Solutions is hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Sous Chef to work within a prestigious clubhouse environment in Kilkenny. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated chef to step into a leadership role and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of a busy kitchen.
The ideal candidate will bring strong culinary skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a team-oriented mindset. You will support the Head Chef in delivering a high standard of food quality, consistency, and hygiene across all areas of service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen and assume responsibility in their absence
* Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of all dishes according to set standards
* Assist with planning menus and managing food cost margins
* Supervise kitchen operations, including team coordination and task delegation
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, in line with HACCP procedures
* Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team culture
* Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
* Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and safely operated
* Respond to special dietary requirements and guest feedback professionally
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar senior kitchen role
* Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations
* Excellent culinary and plating skills
* Leadership qualities and ability to work well under pressure
* Organised, efficient, and team-focused
* Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and evenings
* High standards of reliability, presentation, and professionalism
