My client is seeking a highly experienced Director of DevOps to lead and own the development and operations strategy across our technology organization. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in both software development and operational excellence, capable of driving efficiency, scalability, and innovation across the engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and ownership for the company’s DevOps and platform engineering strategy.
Lead and mentor a high-performing DevOps, SRE, and cloud infrastructure team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud-native infrastructure.
Oversee production reliability, monitoring, and incident management processes to ensure high availability and performance of fintech platforms.
Collaborate closely with engineering, security, and product teams to align operational practices with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Develop and enforce best practices for infrastructure, deployment, and operational workflows.
Lead capacity planning, system architecture reviews, and performance optimization initiatives.
Own budgetary and resource planning for the DevOps and operations teams.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 10 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or operations roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions.
Proven track record of building and leading high-performing DevOps or platform engineering teams in a fintech or regulated environment.
Deep expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and incident response frameworks.
Experience managing large-scale, secure, and highly available financial systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to make strategic decisions in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with financial regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO27001).
Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
Familiarity with cost optimization in cloud environments.
