As a Secondary Language Acquisition Teacher, you will play a key role in achieving this by enabling students to communicate effectively in French and/or Spanish, while deepening their appreciation of other cultures and perspectives. You will support students’ academic and personal development through engaging, meaningful language instruction that prepares them for success in school and beyond.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Secondary Language Acquisition Teacher to join our team at Nord Anglia International School Dublin from August 2025. The successful candidate will teach French and/or Spanish across the secondary school and will ideally bring experience teaching within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).
This role requires someone who is confident delivering high-quality language instruction aligned with IB philosophy and international best practices. You will work collaboratively within a dynamic team to inspire students, promote intercultural understanding, and support learners in becoming confident, effective communicators in an international setting.
Key responsibilities include:
* Teaching Frenchacross Key Stages, including MYP and DP.
* Planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in line with IB frameworks.
* Using a range of student-centred and inquiry-based strategies to support language acquisition.
* Contributing to curriculum development and cross-curricular initiatives.
* Supporting extracurricular and enrichment activities that enhance language learning.
* Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a strong learning community.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
* Holds a Bachelor’s degree in French, or is a native French speaker, along with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
* Has experience teaching within the IB MYP and/or DP, ideally in an international school setting.
* Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and the ability to create engaging, inclusive language lessons.
* Can differentiate effectively to support a wide range of learners and promote student progress.
* Brings a collaborative mindset and is confident using technology in the classroom.
* Committed to IB values and to the development of students’ global awareness and intercultural competence.
* Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a reflective and flexible approach.
The ability to teach both French and Spanish is a strong advantage.
