B.C. Mc Gettigan Limited is seeking a talented Commis Chef with experience in European and Irish cuisine, particularly dishes featured on our hotel The Address Hotel Connolly’s menu, which includes Irish, Italian-inspired, French-style, and Mediterranean influences. You will be responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen and ensuring consistent, high-quality food preparation and presentation and will work collaboratively with the kitchen team and report to the Head Chef, playing a key role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations and upholding culinary standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service coordination, and section management.
* Assist with menu planning and recipe execution, contributing ideas and maintaining consistency in quality.
* Prepare and present high-quality dishes with attention to detail in both taste and presentation.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety throughout your section.
* Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory control, and ensure proper storage practices.
* Help train and guide junior kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
* Ensure your section runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the kitchen.


Qualifications

* At least 2 years’ experience as a Commis Chef or similar role.
* Culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
* Knowledge of Irish food safety and hygiene standards.
* Proficient in cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
* Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage tasks efficiently.
* Flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Physically fit to handle kitchen demands.
