Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This role is pivotal in managing the financial aspects of property and infrastructure investment, with a strong focus on capital project budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Investment and Reporting Controller to manage capital project costs and ensure sustainable financial reporting. Support procurement with project cost evaluation and analysis. Monitor planned investments and expenditure timelines, track budget variances, and flag any potential risks or deviations. Assist in building maintenance, budget preparation and monitoring open commitments and actual spend. Work with the general ledger team to maintain the fixed asset register, asset verification, and disposals. Assist in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures in line with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits, ensuring all compliance standards are met. Provide support for investment-related committees, including agenda preparation, minutes, documentation, and follow-up actions. Evaluate and support improvements to financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities for automation and increased efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system upgrades and future enhancements, including financial planning and reporting tools. Recommend and support implementation of technology solutions that drive efficiencies and support strategic reporting needs. Ensure timely completion of all monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance submissions. Work with the general ledger team on asset creation and related reporting, aligned with internal approvals and governance structures. Support the development of compliance reports in line with environmental, sustainability, and regulatory frameworks. Skills & Experience Required Fully qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with demonstrable experience in investment appraisal and financial evaluation. Solid financial background in capital projects, including accounting, forecasting, and reporting responsibilities. Excellent understanding of financial systems, organisational processes, and corporate governance. Hands-on experience in project management and process improvement. Proficient in financial systems (e.g., SAP) and data reporting tools. Advanced Excel skills and high proficiency across Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of legislative frameworks and standards relevant to capital investment and sustainability reporting.
