Job Opportunity: We are seeking a qualified Person in Charge with experience in working with children, young adults, and challenging behaviour.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily shifts and rostering arrangements within the unit. They will oversee Social Care Workers and ensure effective guidance and support for the team. The Person in Charge will also manage all administrative procedures related to in-house cash and payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
* Shift Coordination: Plan and coordinate daily shifts and rostering arrangements within the unit.
* Supervision: Oversee Social Care Workers and ensure effective guidance and support for the team.
* Administrative Oversight: Manage all administrative procedures related to in-house cash and payroll.
* Child-Centered Care: Address the primary care needs of each young person and contribute to stimulating activity programs.
* Record Management: Maintain and update relevant records and files and provide written reports for reviews and case conferences.
* Safety and Advocacy: Ensure the rights and responsibilities of children are respected, preventing any forms of abuse, including bullying.
* Therapeutic Approach: Develop and maintain a therapeutic environment, focusing on individual and group work with young people and their families.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years experience working in a residential setting with children
* CORU Registered desirable
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills
* Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and risk management
* Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners, including social work departments and healthcare providers
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic team
