Social Care Leader
Lead a team of Social Care professionals in delivering holistic, trauma-informed care to young people.
The position is responsible for Centre Management, Financial Oversight, Staff Development, and Health & Safety.
This role reports to the Deputy Regional Manager and is part of a new Tusla service in Limerick.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create and maintain a safe environment for young people, ensuring their rights and responsibilities are promoted and respected.
* Develop and implement Care Plans in collaboration with centre staff, external stakeholders, and young people's families.
* Collaborate with colleagues to advance strategic planning and development for Children's Residential Centres.
* Ensure resource utilization aligns with service goals and objectives.
* Engage in regular consultation with young people, families, centre staff, and external partners as necessary.
* Maintain centre facilities, equipment, and vehicles in good condition.
* Participate in recruitment, selection, and appointment processes for centre staff.
* Engage in activities promoting positive relationships and play with children/young people.
* Utilize physical intervention and restraint practices in accordance with local policies and procedures.
* Manage centre operations, supervise staff, and allocate designated resources effectively.
* Attend professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Adhere to policies, guidelines, and standards while complying with relevant legislation and regulations.
* Demonstrate working knowledge of HIQA Standards applicable to the service and participate in implementing and maintaining these standards.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Social Care Grade roles within a Children's Residential Centre setting.
* Be registered with the Social Care Workers Register or hold a CORU-approved qualification and demonstrate eligibility for registration.
* Meet the requisite knowledge and ability criteria for this role.
