About Your New Job as a Procurement Officer
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with all units to understand and meet procurement needs.
Source goods and services in line with organizational policies and public procurement guidelines, including green procurement.
Prepare and issue tender documents, evaluate responses, and support contract award processes.
Manage procurement processes from start to finish, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and conducting tenders.
Ensure compliance with procurement guidelines and manage the eTenders platform.
Maintain and update the contract register, ensuring data integrity and timely renewals.
Generate monthly procurement reports and assist with audit enquiries.
Deliver procurement training and ensure best practices are adhered to by all staff.
What Skills You Need as a Procurement Officer
Essential Requirements:
A qualification of at least level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications or a minimum of 3 years' relevant procurement experience.
Working knowledge of Public Procurement Directives, National Procurement Policy, and relevant circulars in Ireland.
Experience with the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) and procurement frameworks.
Strong organizational and priority-setting skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in IT and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
Experience in managing and implementing corporate procurement plans.
