Due to ongoing expansion, we are inviting applications for a full-time Assistant Buyer to join our team here in PRO Stainless.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role will involve:
* Prepare, release and maintain purchase orders in line with planning requirements
* Ensure Suppliers have correct specifications for all purchase orders placed
* Work with Procurement Manager ensuring required components are available to meet production schedule needs
* Analyse current spending trends and assist in identifying potential cost saving initiatives.
* Monitor and manage Purchase Price Variance on a weekly basis. Work with Procurement Manager to meet these PPV and cost down targets
* Monitor and manage stock level and accuracy to ensure we meet the demands of Production Schedule working with relevant depts to ensure adequate controls are in place.
* Ensure all relevant ISO 9001: 2015 procedures and other business specific standards are adhered to.
* Liaise with accounts on invoice queries and monthly accruals.
* Liaise with the Vending machine supplier - keeping track of stockouts and stock usages.
* Track Supplier KPI's - On time in full deliveries, Actual v budgeted costs and stockouts.
* Organise collection of materials with delivery drivers.
* Assist with calibration and machine maintenance scheduling.
* Assist with Fleet Management.
Experience and skills required:
* Computer literate with experience with Microsoft Office packages
* Able to understand basic engineering processes and information
* Able to evaluate and analyse the estimated cost of specific parts
* An understanding of processes required to manufacture specific components
* 2-4 years purchasing experience within a relevant industry - Pharma or Engineering industry an advantage
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
* Can work independently but also as part of a team willing to assist team members
* Ability to identify solutions to problems within a fast-moving manufacturing environment
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A creative thinker not afraid to suggest new ways of doing things

* 8 hour shift
