Babel Academy of English is recruiting two experienced Summer School Centre Managers to manage our junior summer school programmes in Dublin for Summer 2026. Our summer school centres are in:
* Manor House School, Raheny, Dublin 5 from 29/06/2026-31/07/2026
* DCU, Glasnevin, Dublin 9 from 22/06/2026-31/07/2026
Role Overview
The Centre Manager has overall responsibility for the safe, smooth, and high-quality operation of the junior summer school centre, in line with Babel Academy of English policies and procedures. The role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a clear focus on student welfare and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Overall management of daily centre operations
* Line management, supervision, and support of academic, activity, welfare, and administrative staff
* Planning and delivery of staff induction and on-site training, ensuring all staff are fully briefed on policies, procedures, safeguarding, and centre operations
* Ensuring consistently high standards of student care, safeguarding, and welfare at all times
* Acting as the main point of contact for students, group leaders, parents, suppliers, and Babel Academy Head Office
* Oversight of academic timetables, activities, excursions, and staff rotas
* Managing student arrivals, departures, and all on-site logistics
* Participation in the centre emergency phone rota, responding to out-of-hours issues and emergencies as required
* Ensuring full compliance with Babel Academy policies, child protection procedures, and health & safety requirements
* Managing incidents, issues, and emergencies in a calm and professional manner
* Completion of required reports and administrative duties
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in a senior role within a junior summer school, language school, or similar educational setting
* Proven experience working with under-18 students
* Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Availability for the full summer programme period
* Successful completion of Garda Vetting prior to commencement of employment
Desirable
* Relevant degree or qualification (education, management, or related field)
* Experience working with international students
* Child Protection Training (or willingness to complete)
* Fire Warden certification (or willingness to complete)
* First Aid certification (or willingness to complete)
Work Conditions
* Full-time, on-site role for the duration of the summer programme
* Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15–17:15
* Participation in a centre emergency phone rota, including out-of-hours availability as required
* Flexibility to work extended hours on arrival and departure days
* Availability to respond to incidents or emergencies outside normal working hours when necessary
* Seasonal, fixed-term contract for the summer programme period
* Salary of € per week on a 5/6-week contract.
