Site Engineer Rail Infrastructure Project A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a Site Engineer to join a major rail infrastructure project spanning the Leitrim to Longford corridor.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a nationally significant transport project within a well-established contractor delivering complex civil engineering and rail-related works.
The successful candidate will support site delivery across multiple locations, contributing to the construction, upgrading, and enabling works associated with rail infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities Support day-to-day site operations across rail infrastructure works between Leitrim and Longford Carry out setting out duties using GPS, total station, and surveying equipment Assist in the delivery of earthworks, drainage, trackside civils, and associated infrastructure Maintain accurate site records, as-built drawings, and daily progress reports Liaise with site management, rail contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders Ensure works are delivered in line with specifications, drawings, and programme requirements Monitor site quality and assist with QA/QC documentation Support health & safety compliance across all site activities, including permit systems and RAMS Assist in resolving technical issues and coordinating works across multiple work fronts Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline Minimum 24 years experience in a Site Engineer role Previous experience in rail, civil infrastructure, or heavy civils projects is highly desirable Irish or UK construction experience is essential Strong setting out and surveying skills (GPS and total station experience required) Good understanding of site engineering and construction methodologies Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work across multiple active sites and travel within the project corridor Full driving licence required Whats on Offer Competitive salary (€60,000 €70,000 DOE) Opportunity to work on a major rail infrastructure project in Ireland Long-term career prospects within a leading civil engineering contractor Exposure to complex, large-scale transport infrastructure works Strong support from experienced engineering and site management teams To Apply If you are a Site Engineer with experience in civil infrastructure or rail projects and are seeking a new opportunity between Leitrim and Longford, please contact Amy Maguire for a confidential discussion or send your CV.
