Part‑Qualified Accountant (Practice)
Role Overview
Support the delivery of accounting, tax, audit (if applicable), and client services within an Irish accountancy practice, while progressing toward ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification. Manage client portfolios across various sectors and contribute to financial statement and tax return preparation.
Core Responsibilities
1. Prepare year‑end accounts (no‑audit or audit-exempt clients) and working papers to review stage.
2. Reconcile balance sheet items: VAT, payroll, leases, fixed assets, prepayments.
3. Assist with management accounts and monthly/quarterly financial reporting.
4. Prepare and file statutory returns: Corporation Tax (CT1), Income Tax (Form 11), VAT, P30, RCT.
5. Assist with audits where applicable: planning, fieldwork, audit files, and client reporting.
6. Liaise with clients via phone/email regarding record submissions and queries.
7. Support year-end close, journal entries, and accounting system reconciliations.
Qualifications & Skills
8. Part‑qualified with ACA, ACCA or CIMA and at least 1–2 years' experience in practice.
9. Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, procedural checklists, and Irish tax regimes.
10. Proficient in Excel and comfortable using accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, Surf, CCH).
11. Excellent written and spoken English; client communication skills essential.
12. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client deadlines independently.
