We're currently looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team immediately.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role in a setting that truly supports and values its people.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Manager in the daily running of the setting.
Step in as Acting Manager when needed
Act as the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) for child safeguarding (training provided if needed)
Lead, mentor, and support staff to maintain high standards in early years care and education
Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations and internal policies
Coordinate staff rotas and maintain staff-child ratios in conjunction with manager
Oversee staff development, including appraisals and training plans
Maintain strong communication with families and external agencies
Use ChildPath to manage attendance, reports, and documentation
Provide hands-on support in rooms as needed
Promote a culture of continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
Minimum QQI Level 6 qualification in Early Years Education (or higher)
Minimum 2 years' experience in a childcare or early years setting
Proven leadership experience
Strong knowledge of the Aistear curriculum and child protection procedures
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
A proactive, team-oriented approach
Willingness to complete DLP training
Work with Better Start preferable, but not essential
Immediate availability preferred
