We're currently looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role in a setting that truly supports and values its people.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Manager in the daily running of the setting.
* Step in as Acting Manager when needed
* Act as the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) for child safeguarding (training provided if needed)
* Lead, mentor, and support staff to maintain high standards in early years care and education
* Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations and internal policies
* Coordinate staff rotas and maintain staff-child ratios in conjunction with manager
* Oversee staff development, including appraisals and training plans
* Maintain strong communication with families and external agencies
* Use ChildPath to manage attendance, reports, and documentation
* Provide hands-on support in rooms as needed
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
* Minimum QQI Level 6 qualification in Early Years Education (or higher)
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a childcare or early years setting
* Proven leadership experience
* Strong knowledge of the Aistear curriculum and child protection procedures
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
* A proactive, team-oriented approach
* Willingness to complete DLP training
* Work with Better Start preferable, but not essential
* Immediate availability preferred
