Job Opportunity: Environmental Manager
We are seeking a proactive Environmental Manager to oversee and drive our environmental and sustainability initiatives. This pivotal role will involve managing environmental compliance, sustainability strategies, and continuous improvement projects to ensure that all operations align with the highest environmental standards.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and manage site-wide environmental policies and systems.
2. Maintain and support ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certifications, ensuring compliance with standards.
3. Stay up-to-date with Irish and European environmental legislation, ensuring site compliance.
4. Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the EPA, local authorities, and public organisations.
5. Monitor and manage all emissions and emission points in line with licensing requirements.
6. Prepare reports to meet legislative and licensing obligations.
7. Oversee the site’s wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), providing daily support and maintaining compliance records.
8. Analyse and optimise energy and water usage to enhance efficiency.
9. Manage waste treatment, recycling programs, and pollution control measures.
10. Drive sustainability reporting and lead waste reduction and environmental health initiatives.
Job Requirements:
1. Relevant qualification in Environmental or Sustainability Management.
2. Strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
3. Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate innovative thinking.
5. Experience in managing environmental audits and inspections.
6. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
7. Knowledge or experience in managing ISO certifications is highly desirable.
