Procurement Specialist Role
This position is responsible for supporting administrative activities in the Purchasing division, ensuring policy compliance and managing quotation/tendering processes.
* Main contact for PO system, resolving issues with providers.
* Assist requisitioners and managers with purchase requisitions.
* Train new users on the PO system.
* Engage with teams on POs, goods receipts, and invoice queries.
* Work with Accounts Payable to match invoices to POs.
* Manage new supplier onboarding and maintenance.
* Administer tax clearance process.
Quotation & Tendering
* Assist requisitioners with quotations.
* Manage mini competitions for Framework Agreements.
* Handle quotation process for under €50K.
* Provide purchasing policy guidance.
* Support Purchasing Manager with tender-related tasks.
Reporting & Analysis
* Conduct PO and expenditure analysis.
* Compile purchasing activity statistics for Board reports.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Three or more years of experience in a public sector/semi-state purchasing role. Strong data analysis and IT skills (Office 365, etc.). Excellent customer service, attention to detail, multitasking. Ability to work independently and in teams. Strong planning, organisation, and deadline management. A high standard of professionalism is required.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Relevant third-level qualification (Purchasing, Business, Finance, etc.). Public procurement law training. Public sector experience. Knowledge of financial management systems (Sage, SAP, etc.).
