Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is one of Ireland’s largest indigenous consultancies specialising in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, and Energy and Renewables.FT provides consultancy services for renewable energy projects including offshore wind, onshore wind, commercial scale solar PV, biomass and micro-hydro power, as well as gas pipelines, electrical infrastructure including battery storage and peaking plants and energy from waste projects.FT is seeking to recruit a Principal Engineer to join our Energy team in either the Cork, Dublin or Carlow office. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the growth of our Energy and Planning division, working collaboratively with a team of experienced professionals. This role offers exposure to a wide range of activities within the Energy and Planning sector including project management, environmental assessments, and preliminary design for renewable energy projects.ResponsibilitiesPreparing and reviewing technical reports to ensure high-quality deliverablesPlanning and overseeing design activities in close collaboration with project teamsBuilding and maintaining strong client relationshipsContributing to the preparation of tenders and proposalsProviding line management and leadership to team membersEnsuring compliance with quality assurance systems, management procedures, and relevant health and safety legislationCoordinating effectively with colleagues and other team members across disciplinesQualificationsA degree in Civil EngineeringA minimum of 12 years’ post-graduate experienceChartered Engineer statusStrong communication, organisational, and analytical skillsProven experience in engaging with external stakeholders, clients and sub-contractorsAdaptable, collaborative, and an effective team playerSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficientlyExperience in project managing the preliminary civil design of renewable energy projects is advantageous, though not essentialHow to applyIs FT the right fit for you?
