About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Regulatory Affairs Manger to join a busy team for a six month period.
Virgin Media operates in a complex, highly competitive and regulated telecoms and broadcasting market in which a broad range of issues impact on strategic and business development.
Reporting into the Head of Regulatory you will be responsible for playing a crucial role in the Virgin Media and Virgin Media Television Regulatory team. This will include advising on regulatory matters, drafting and formulating responses on behalf of Virgin Media to industry consultations, providing updates to internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements, assisting the company in meeting regulatory reporting requirements and ensuring regulatory compliance with Telecoms and Broadcasting Regulations.
You will be a critical member of our Regulatory team as we continue growth on our footprint across our connectivity and entertainment portfolios. The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for detail, proactive mindset and ability to draft and formulate company positions in response to industry consultations. The ideal candidate will also be an effective communicator with the ability to communicate regulatory requirements and updates to internal stakeholders clearly and communicate company positions to external stakeholders.
Specific Requirements:
* Deep understanding of Irish and EU regulations, directives, and guidelines associated with the telecoms and broadcasting sectors
* Proven track record in a regulatory role and extensive direct experience of interacting with Regulators for example ComReg, BAI, CCPC and other relevant regulatory agencies across Ireland or the EU.
* Strong ability to earn the trust and confidence of business partners and influence and advise key stakeholders on regulatory matters.
* Experience in formulating and drafting company responses to industry consultations on regulatory matters.
* Ensuring business process and procedures meet all necessary regulatory requirements.
* Ensure compliance with Virgin Media and Liberty Global policies, procedures and direction.
* An agile and engaged team player who can work in a fast paced environment and manage rapidly evolving priorities.
Skills & Expertise:
* Minimum five years' experience in a busy regulatory team/ compliance team/or regulatory section of a law firm.
* Primary/Bachelor's degree required; advance academic degree preferred. Expertise in competition law an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills with proven track record presenting regulatory positions to internal stakeholders and presenting to external stakeholders.
* Experience working in a digital and technology environment and making strategic data led decisions.
