Team Overview:
Our BIM (Building Information Modelling) team plays a vital role in delivering accurate, coordinated, and data-rich 3D models for use throughout the design, construction, and installation phases of our projects. Working closely with design engineers, project managers, and site teams, the department ensures that all mechanical and electrical services are fully integrated and clash-free prior to construction. This proactive approach helps reduce risk, improve efficiency, and enhance collaboration across all stakeholders — ultimately supporting the successful delivery of high-quality, bespoke MEP solutions.
Role Overview:
A UK leading multi-award winning building services contractor are currently seeking a BIM Project Co-ordinator in supporting their expanding BIM team at their new Offices in Dundalk, Co. Louth as a fundamental role in managing the MEP design coordination on multiple large scale Data Centre projects throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Job Title: BIM Project Co-Ordinator – Data Centres
Location: Dundalk, Co. Louth
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm

What You'll be Doing:
* Project Delivery Support:
Support the BIM Lead/Manager in implementing the BIM strategy and project delivery programme, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and company standards.
* BIM Execution Plan (BEP) Familiarisation:
Review and understand the project-specific BIM Execution Plan, including BIM objectives, standards, workflows, roles, and deliverables, to ensure accurate application throughout project stages.
* Task Coordination:
Assist in scheduling and tracking BIM-related deliverables, ensuring assigned tasks are progressing in line with project milestones. Provide updates to the BIM Lead/Manager on task status and any potential delays.
* Resource Coordination:
Liaise with the BIM Lead/Manager regarding team resource requirements, helping to coordinate workloads and ensuring appropriate support for each project phase.
* Project Reporting Assistance:
Compile and maintain progress data for reporting purposes, highlighting project updates, key achievements, and coordination challenges for review with the BIM Lead/Manager.
* Project Modelling:
Contribute to the development and coordination of BIM models, focusing on accurate model creation and integration of information across disciplines.
* Design Coordination:
Support the integration of discipline-specific models (e.g., MEP, structural, architectural), ensuring alignment with project requirements, specifications, and established BIM standards.
* Clash Detection & Resolution Support:
Run clash detection processes and assist in documenting and communicating identified issues to the relevant design teams for resolution prior to construction.
* Quality Assurance Checks:
Conduct routine checks on BIM models and drawings to verify accuracy and adherence to quality standards, reporting any inconsistencies or deviations to the BIM Lead/Manager.
* Document Management:
Maintain clear records of BIM documentation, including revision histories, model updates, and coordination notes, ensuring all data is properly stored and accessible.
* Internal Coordination:
Organise and participate in BIM coordination meetings, documenting actions, issues, and follow-ups to support clear communication within the project team.
* Stakeholder Coordination:
Support the BIM Lead/Manager in liaising with external stakeholders such as architects, engineers, and contractors, facilitating effective BIM-related communication and data exchange.
* Feedback & Continuous Improvement:
Gather and relay feedback from project teams regarding BIM workflows and deliverables, contributing to process improvement and best practice development.
* Performance Support:
Monitor deliverable progress and provide feedback on model quality and adherence to standards, escalating concerns as needed.
* Skill Development Support:
Identify personal areas for BIM skill enhancement and assist the team in accessing relevant learning resources or internal training sessions as directed by the BIM Manager.
* Mentorship & Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with peers, offering assistance and sharing technical knowledge to promote consistent modelling quality and team growth.
* Software Integration Awareness:
Support the implementation of processes linking BIM models with other software tools (e.g., Dynamo), ensuring interoperability and workflow efficiency.
* 4D, 5D, & 6D BIM Support:
Assist in integrating time (4D), cost (5D), and facility management (6D) data into BIM models when applicable, under the direction of the BIM Lead/Manager.
Skills and Competencies:
* BIM Software Proficiency:
Expertise in working with Autodesk Revit software with ability to create, edit, and review complex BIM models.
* Multi-disciplinary Coordination:
Skill in coordinating between various design disciplines, such as architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), ensuring a cohesive design approach.
* Clash Detection:
Familiarity with Navisworks to identify and address clashes in the model.
* Design Review:
Ability to critically review and assess design 3D models and 2D drawings, suggesting improvements or modifications as necessary to meet project requirements
* Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with various internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
* Problem-Solving:
Capacity for identifying issues and developing effective solutions in real-time.
* Teamwork:
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and develop a collaborative environment.
* Attention to Detail:
High level of precision to ensure BIM models and associated drawings are accurate.
* Time Management:
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively, especially in high-pressure situations.

* Construction & Design Principles:
Understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP design principles and construction processes.
* Adaptability:
Being adaptable and open to learning new tools and techniques, especially in the BIM sector, where it is continually evolving the construction and design industry
* 4D/5D/6D BIM:
Understanding of integrating time schedules (4D), cost data (5D), and facility management (6D) into BIM models.
* Programming & Scripting:
While not mandatory, knowledge of programming languages like Python, especially for creating custom scripts or plugins in BIM tools.
What You Need to Have:
* Minimum 3 years' experience within a BIM coordination role delivering large commercial MEP projects
* Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
What You Would Ideally Have:
* A relevant third level education in building services, architectural engineering or construction
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
