About Life Scientific
In crop protection, confidence comes from data. Not assumptions. Not optimism. Not “it worked last time.” Life Scientific operates in a $250 billion global market, building differentiated crop protection products through disciplined innovation and technical rigour. We move fast - but we don’t cut corners. As our innovation pipeline grows, robust analytical science is what allows us to make confident decisions, avoid late-stage surprises, and transfer products into Development without hidden risks.
The Opportunity
Innovation moves forward on belief. Development moves forward on proof. This role exists to make sure belief is always backed by evidence. As Analytical Scientist, you will underpin Life Scientific’s innovation pipeline with high-quality, interpretable and regulatory-aligned analytical data.
You Will

Identify degradation pathways before they become problems
Understand impurity profiles before regulators ask questions
Diagnose formulation instability before scale-up magnifies it
Provide clarity when data is ambiguous

You will not just generate data.
You will interpret it.
You will act as the analytical anchor within the Innovation Team - working closely with formulation, biology, regulatory and development colleagues to ensure every project entering Development is analytically defensible.
This is a role for someone who values precision - but understands commercial timelines.
This Role Is For You If You…
You get uncomfortable when data is incomplete or poorly interpreted.
You Instinctively Ask

What is this peak?
Why is it growing?
What happens at 40°C?
Are we confident - or hopeful?

You enjoy understanding degradation pathways and failure modes.
You are curious about mechanisms, not just results.
You see analytical science as a decision-making tool - not a reporting function.
You can work across multiple technology pillars - adapting your approach to complex and evolving systems.
You are rigorous - but pragmatic.
You understand regulatory expectations - but you don’t wait for regulators to raise issues before you solve them.
You take pride in being the person others trust when the data matters.
What You’ll Do
Build Robust Analytical Foundations

Develop and optimise analytical methods supporting formulation development, stability and impurity profiling
Design and interpret stability and degradation studies to understand failure modes and robustness
Provide clear, structured insight into degradation pathways and risk areas

De‑Risk Innovation Early

Generate analytical insight that guides formulation optimisation
Identify instability or impurity risks before scale-up
Support cross‑functional problem‑solving when analytical issues emerge

Enable Confident Stage‑Gate Decisions

Ensure analytical outputs align with regulatory expectations and internal quality standards
Provide evidence‑based input into stage‑gate reviews
Support technical diligence of external technologies and partnerships

Ensure Smooth Transfer into Development

Develop transfer‑ready analytical methods
Support handover into Development teams with clarity and documentation
Capture and reuse analytical learning to strengthen future projects

What You Bring
You combine technical depth with strong interpretive judgement.
Essential

Degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related discipline
3+ years’ experience in analytical development within crop protection, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals or another regulated industry
Strong hands‑on experience with chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC)
Experience in method development, validation and stability studies
Familiarity with regulatory expectations for analytical data

Desirable But Not Essential

Experience with complex formulations (SC, CS, EW, nano‑dispersions)
Exposure to hybrid chemical–biological systems or reverse‑engineering studies
Experience operating in innovation‑focused, cross‑functional environments

Scientific curiosity and disciplined execution matter more than tenure alone.
What Success Looks Like

Built strong confidence in analytical data at innovation stage gates
Reduced late‑stage stability or quality surprises
Delivered smooth analytical method transfer into Development
Established yourself as a trusted analytical authority within the innovation programme
Strengthened analytical capability as a competitive advantage for Life Scientific

Why Join Life Scientific?
Because here, analytical science is not a back‑office function. It is central to decision‑making. You will operate at the heart of a growing innovation engine - ensuring that what we build is stable, defensible and ready for global markets. You won’t just produce chromatograms. You’ll influence which ideas progress - and which don’t. It requires rigour. Curiosity. And intellectual honesty. But your work will sit behind products used in fields around the world. And that matters.
