Senior Quantity Surveyor (Chartered SCSI / RICS) – Lead Delivery of Cost and Commercial Management ServicesWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the delivery of high‑quality cost and commercial management services across a portfolio of complex construction and infrastructure projects. You will act as a trusted commercial advisor, providing strategic cost leadership from project inception through to final account, ensuring robust financial control, value optimisation and effective risk management.ResponsibilitiesPre‑Contract: Lead cost planning, benchmarking and budget establishment aligned with client objectives.Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities, cost plans and estimates.Provide procurement strategy advice, including route selection and packaging of works.Produce tender documentation and manage the tender process, including tender analysis, evaluation and reporting to support award recommendations.Advise on contract selection (NEC, GCCC/PW‑CF, RIAI, FIDIC as applicable).Post‑Contract: Undertake full commercial management of projects through delivery.Prepare and agree interim valuations, variations and final accounts.Administer contracts, including compensation events and claims assessment.Manage cost reporting, forecasting and cash‑flow monitoring.Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.Ensure robust change‑control procedures are implemented.Act as lead commercial interface with clients, contractors and design teams, providing clear, concise commercial reporting at project and programme level.Support clients with strategic cost advice and value engineering, build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development.Lead and mentor junior QS and cost‑management staff, provide technical oversight and quality assurance of deliverables, ensure compliance with SCSI/RICS professional standards and ethical obligations, and contribute to internal best‑practice development.QualificationsChartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS and/or MSCSI essential).Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics or equivalent.Relevant years of experience in cost and commercial management, with strong experience across pre‑ and post‑contract services.Detailed knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC, GCCC/PW‑CF, RIAI, FIDIC).Proven track record delivering complex projects or programmes.Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.Experience working within public sector frameworks.Rewards & BenefitsCompetitive salaries and a range of health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle benefits.Opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills and expertise.Hybrid working culture with international remote working opportunities and flexible holiday allowances.We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and value applications from all backgrounds, cultures and abilities.
