The Role:

The Finance Manager will play a key role across each of the departments in the CFO Division, including Finance/Accounts, Funding, Credit and Operations. The role reports to the Head of Finance and will play a central role in the growth of the company through management and delivery of finance processes, research and application for new debt and equity funding opportunities, credit risk assessment and analysis; and monitoring and oversight of operations payment processing.

This role partners directly with the Head of Finance across projects, driving cross-functional growth projects and offering a strong career path in a scaling Fintech during a period of rapid expansion while sharpening their skills and gaining extensive experience.

The position is based at the company’s head office in Belfield Office Park, Clonskeagh, Dublin with 4 days (Monday to Thursday) in the office and remote working on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Reporting

* Responsible for all finance transactional activity on Xero, bank account reconciliation and management of accounts payable processes in a timely manner
* Manage the finance reporting activity including timely preparation of the monthly Management Accounts’ workings
* Manage yearly statutory audit process to include proofing and finalisation of statutory and abridged accounts
* Support the preparation of budgets and quarterly reforecasts
* Preparation of all group tax returns (VAT, CT etc.) and grant applications where applicable
* Develop and deliver MI and FP&A reports to management to guide decision-making

Strategic Finance & Analysis

* Support on new debt and equity funding opportunities
* Liaise with Data team to ensure dashboards are accurate and up-to-date
* Perform an internal audit of the Trading & Operations team’s payment processing
* Support credit risk assessments of customer applications
* Active role in cross-functional projects with Funding, Credit and Operations, including frequent project coordination work

People Management & Process Improvement

* Assist in driving accounting, reporting and business process simplification and efficiency initiatives
* Mentor and coach less experienced team members

The Ideal Candidate:

* Qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with an audit background, likely to have started your career in one of the larger practices
* 2+ years of PQE gained in a commercial, fast-paced environment, eager to prove themselves
* Experience of accounts preparation, commercial analysis, report writing/presentations and statutory tax returns
* Familiarity with financials services, banking and SME environment, preferably with direct experience
* Experience in budgeting and forecasting beneficial
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills; ability to disseminate large volumes of data and succinctly summarise in a clear and concise manner the salient points for Senior Management
* Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills; comfortable working to deadlines and an ability to handle queries in a professional and timely manner
* Ability to engage effectively at all levels with colleagues and external stakeholders
* Comfortable managing staff and being assertive with other stakeholders including Senior Management
* Embodies a critical thinking mindset — one that instinctively questions assumptions, probes beyond the surface, and critically evaluates evidence without bias
* Enthusiastic about driving operational efficiency through adoption of technology
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentational skills
* Highly numeric with a razor-sharp attention to detail
* Excel and financial modelling skills essential
* Self-motivated and able to use own initiative, shows a high level of commitment and professional work ethic
* Ambition to grow career alongside growth of the division
