***Powder Coat Painter – Technical Glass Products – Snoqualmie, WA**This position is responsible for using a variety of tools to both prepare a surface for coating and for coating TGP metal door and frame systems surfaces.
The coater must plan out the job to assure complete surface coverage and proper cure at the level of thickness designated by the manufacture specifications and according to standard practices.
**What You Will Do:*** Sets up powder coat and related equipment to exact specifications and prepares equipment for production.
* Applies coatings to surfaces using powder coating equipment utilizing knowledge of the materials, tools, and fixtures used in the process.
* Maintains inventory and equipment in good operating order.
* Reviews color tags to determine color to use on parts as they enter the coating booth.
* Identifies characteristics of surfaces to be coated and ensures proper preparation and application of coating.
* Understands general pre-prep operation, includes viewing product for defects before entering the coating booth.
* Tests each part for proper ground continuity prior to coating.
* Applies coatings in accordance with manufacturer Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and ensures proper cure time and temperature are achieved.
* Records and completes coating log for each load bar, including pre-cure coating thickness.
* Prepares parts for rework and applies powder to correct coating defect.
* Sets rigging and scaffolding, and operates lifts and small cranes as needed to perform work.
* Operates a variety of power and hand tools and equipment, including applicators, sandblasting and pressure washing equipment.
* Wears appropriate personal protective equipment as indicated by the assignment.
This may include head socks, respirators, protective disposable suits, face shields, gloves and the like.
* Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to, all guarding.
* Corrects any safety issue prior to operating the equipment.
* Ensures that items are properly hung on conveyor hooks.
Hangs and removes parts from hooks when parts are not available to powder coat.
* Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures for paint treatment actions.
* Understand and comply with all appropriate safety and work safety regulations.
* Continuously maintains a clean work area including the cleanup and disposal of trash, production scrap, and material drop-off.
Assists in cleaning common areas.
* Responsible for upkeep and cleanliness of laboratory equipment and instruments.
* As part of the housekeeping procedures, the employee may be involved with the disposal of hazardous waste.
**What You Need to Succeed:*** 3+ years of experience in powder coating, painting or pre-finishing* Provide high quality internal customer service.

**Working Environment**While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in an environment where heavy work is required and where moderate to loud noise occurs.
Overhead work may be required.
There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, twist, bend, lift and move heavy objects (up to 70 pounds) and occasionally lift and move very heavy objects (up to 100 pounds).
Production aids such as raised work platforms, lifts, overhead cranes and forklifts can be used for these tasks.
The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles.
The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials.
The Employee may be occasionally exposed to humid conditions (non-weather) and may be working near moving mechanical parts.
Perform other similar actions during the course of the work day.
Personal protective equipment will be required and provided.
In addition, the individual in this job will be working under time pressure and must be able to perform under stress.
They must be able to work rapidly for long periods and to communicate and interact with others.
They also must be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks, and comprehend the material they read.
The employee must be able to write, and problem solve.
40+ hours per week will typically be necessary to accomplish performance objectives and to provide satisfactory job presence and/or responsiveness.
