IT Support Engineer
Location: Bon Secours Hospital Cork, Ireland
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reports to: IT Business Services Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a customer-focused IT Support Engineer to provide reliable Level 1 & 2 support within a fast-paced private healthcare environment. This role is key to ensuring responsive, high-quality IT support for clinical and administrative users, with a strong focus on ticket ownership, communication and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver Level 1 & 2 IT support onsite and remotely across clinical and administrative users
* Own, manage and resolve support tickets within agreed SLAs
* Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and Citrix-related issues
* Support healthcare applications and escalate where required
* Deploy, configure and maintain end-user devices and IT assets
* Assist with IT upgrades, rollouts, audits and minor project work
* Maintain asset inventory and support procurement activities
* Participate in on-call/out-of-hours support and travel to other sites as required
Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience in a ticket-driven IT support environment (e.g. ServiceNow, Freshdesk, Zendesk)
* Strong understanding of ITIL principles (incident, request and problem management)
* Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and manage competing demands
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, particularly in high-pressure environments
Desirable:
* Experience supporting healthcare or clinical systems (e.g. MEDITECH)
* Experience working in a regulated or compliance-driven environment

* Strong sense of ownership and professionalism
* Collaborative, customer-focused and calm under pressure
* Willing to learn and continuously improve
