What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities will include:
Fulfil the CBI PCF 12 Head of Compliance role in accordance with the CBI Fitness and Probity regime/ Individual Accountability Framework
Support the delivery of the group compliance plan with a focus on Irish and European compliance requirements
Manage the day‑to‑day relationship with the CBI on regulatory matters, overseeing, preparing, and submitting CBI regulatory filings
Provide regular and structured reporting on regulatory developments and the compliance status of the business to senior committees including the Board and Committees of NorthStandard EU, and to group entities as applicable
Identify and support regulatory change initiatives with a focus on Ireland/EEA, leading and contributing to group projects where appropriate
Undertaking compliance reviews as directed with a focus on Irish and European requirements
Contributing to the preparation and delivery of the group compliance training programme
Track and monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to NorthStandard EU
Work closely with the Chief Risk Officer (Europe) to oversee and manage compliance risks applicable to NorthStandard EU.
About you – Skills/Qualifications/Experience
Educated to a post graduate level or professional compliance qualification.
Experience of working in both the Irish and European regulatory environment and experience of managing relationships with regulatory authorities.
Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to explain detailed and complex issues and themes in a way that senior management and the business can understand and act upon.
In‑depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and framing responses to regulatory change.
Ability to challenge and influence effectively and collaboratively at all levels.
Proactive and self‑motivated, able to work on own initiative with a commitment to high quality work.
A team player who works constructively and collaborates with colleagues both within the risk and compliance function and in other teams.
Demonstrable flexibility to meet the needs of the function, NorthStandard EU and the wider group at all times.
Conduct and behaviour in accordance with the group’s principles and the responsibility of the role at all times.
Experience of working in a CBI PCF 12 approved role.
Compliance experience within the insurance sector in a Solvency II environment, preferable within specialty non‑life insurance.
