The successful candidate will bring strong commercial insight to financial management, supporting the organisation's long-term sustainability and growth, and will oversee all transactions from finance, tax, compliance, and legal perspectives.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancePreparation and presentation of an annual forecast and budget in line with the operating plans of the organisation.Responsible for monthly management accounts – P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Variance Analysis reporting.Attend, present, and comment on bi-monthly accounts to the Finance and Governance Committee, taking a lead role in preparing Committee reports and ensuring follow-up on key actions and recommendations.Provide strategic financial insight and guidance to the CEO and department heads, developing commercial strategies and detailed financial models to support decision-making, resource planning, and sustainable organisational growth.End-to-end management of the finance, payroll, and pension systems and processes.Compile and submit all tax returns – PAYE, VAT, Corporation Tax, 46G – per Revenue deadlines.Provide all schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for the annual audit process and liaise directly with auditors on statutory reporting.Banking, investment, and treasury management on behalf of the institution.Work collaboratively with the Technology & Digital Operations Manager to optimise the integration of finance systems with the CRM system, enhance reporting capability, and ensure data integrity across platforms.Risk ManagementOversee organisational risk management processes, maintaining the risk register, coordinating periodic reviews with senior management, and providing updates to the Finance and Governance Committee and CEO.Ensure effective internal controls, compliance monitoring, and proactive risk mitigation measures are in place across the organisation.OperationsManagement of key lease agreements such as office and operating requirements (insurance, licences, etc.).Oversight of procurement and supplier contracts to ensure value for money and compliance with internal policies.Support business continuity planning in collaboration with relevant colleagues.Company Secretarial (desirable responsibility)Act as the Company Secretary for IoD Ireland.Support the CEO at IoD Council meetings.Note: The Company Secretary reports directly to the Council of IoD Ireland.OtherManage the part-time Senior Accounts Administrator.As part of the Senior Management Team, contribute to the strategic and operational agenda of IoD Ireland; attend and contribute to Management Group discussions.Undertake ad-hoc projects as required.Skills and ExperienceEssentialQualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant with an audit background and experience in accounts preparation, report writing, SMEs, statutory tax returns, and company secretarial returns.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.Project management expertise.Demonstrates strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to apply strategic business insight to support the team to drive sustainable organisational growth and financial performance.Strong understanding of governance, audit, and risk management principles, with experience supporting or leading risk and compliance frameworks.Ability to work under pressure and multi-task; must be flexible, prioritise effectively, meet deadlines, and ensure queries are resolved promptly.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills, with an ability to handle queries in a professional and timely manner.High level of commitment and professional work ethic.Self-motivated and able to use own initiative.Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with extensive experience in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Ability to analyse data and summarise findings clearly and concisely for the CEO and Management Group.Keen interest in innovation and continuous process improvement.DesirableExperience or skill in financial modelling or Power BI.Experience in budgeting and forecasting is beneficial but not essential.Operations, business strategy, and project management experience from an entrepreneurial or professional services background.Experience in company secretarial duties or governance processes.Education and QualificationsQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) essential.A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.A master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable.Continued professional development in leadership, corporate governance, or financial management is an advantage.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.10% employer pension contribution (post-probation).Life Assurance & Income Protection.Hybrid working model.Employee Assistance Programme.Generous holiday allowance with buy/sell options.Opportunities for professional development and growth in a learning-focused environment.A collaborative, inclusive, and purpose-driven workplace.
