Are you an experienced environmental consultant seeking to further your career in a forward-thinking environmental consultancy? We are seeking a skilled and ambitious individual to join our Air Quality and Licensing team. This role involves delivering air quality and odour assessments, including air and odour dispersion modelling and air/ odour/ dust assessments for Environmental Impact Assessments. It also involves working on other aspects of projects, particularly climate change assessments. The role will be on a team working on impactful environmental projects that shape a sustainable future.This is a full-time, hybrid role based in any of our offices (Dublin, Cork and Tullamore). The work will be mostly office-based; however, occasional site visits will be required. Only applications including a cover letter and CV will be consideredRole ResponsibilitiesCarry out air and odour dispersion modelling using AERMOD.Prepare air, odour and climate change chapters of Environmental Impact Assessments.Work on various aspects of Industrial Emissions and Air Pollution Licences, including applications for new licences, Technical Amendments, compliance management, etc.Provide clients and multidisciplinary teams with strategic advice and innovative solutions regarding stack emissions.Stay current with legislation, methodologies, and trends in air quality and odour assessment. Update template documents with relevant new AQS and similar.Learn new methodologies for assessment where required, prepare templates and train relevant team membersEnsure use of appropriate modelling tools and resources for dispersion modellingCollaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project successSupport project budgeting, proposal development, and financial performance trackingContribute to internal training, mentoring, and continuous professional developmentRequired experience and qualifications:Degree in Environmental Science or a similar relevant degree, or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in an environmental consultancyAir dispersion modelling using AERMOD – minimum 2 years of professional experienceExcellent understanding of air quality principles and regulatory frameworks, such as;CAFÉ Directive;Medium Combustion Plant DirectiveBAT ELVs for emissions to air for various industriesThe EPA's AG series GuidanceExperience with EIARs or licensing processesCompetence in compiling comprehensive technical reports and delivering high-quality findings and recommendationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical report writingFull Irish driving licence and eligibility to work in IrelandProficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Teams, Excel, SharePoint)Desired experience and qualifications:Master's degree in Environmental Science or a similar or related disciplineMembership of a Professional Organisation.Project financial management .People management and mentoring experience.Project ManagementDesired skills and attributesUnderstanding of overall sustainability concepts is desirable.GHG Emissions assessment;Understanding of National and EU Climate Change Legislation.Ability to understand and analyse client requirements.Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and deadlines.Can manage workload across several varied projects with diverse challengesAmbitious and keen to learn new skills and progress in your careerEqually comfortable with desk-based work, such as analysis, research, and report writing, as with fieldwork and surveying.About usMalone O'Regan Environmental, i is a leading Irish consultancy with over 25 years of experience delivering innovative and sustainable environmental services.We work on large-scale infrastructure projects, including all stages of design, planning, baseline surveys, Environmental Impact Assessments, planning applications, industrial licensing, and ongoing environmental monitoring and support.We are a successful, growing environmental consultancy serving the Irish market, with offices in Dublin, Cork, and Tullamore.
