A key role has emerged in a life-science company for a Production Planner & Logistics Coordinator to join its Operations team in Galway. This is a permanent position with hybrid working, where the individual will contribute to the delivery of medical technology worldwide.
The Role
This is a hands-on, detail-driven position requiring significant cross-functional collaboration. Key responsibilities include:
* Developing demand forecasts in partnership with commercial teams and aligning them with business objectives.
* Coordinating with contract manufacturing partners on raw material procurement, production capacity, and output to ensure timely delivery of products.
* Monitoring daily production performance and addressing supply risks proactively to mitigate any potential disruptions.
* Managing outbound finished goods logistics to the US, optimising sea vs. air freight strategies to reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
* Collaborating with warehouses and third-party logistics providers to ensure on-time, cost-effective deliveries that meet customer expectations.
* Maintaining balanced inventory levels aligned with revenue and safety stock targets to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
* Ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and maintaining accurate documentation for audits and reporting to maintain regulatory compliance.
About You
We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant skills and qualifications include:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in production, supply, or demand planning, with a proven track record of delivering results.
* Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and ability to navigate complex software applications.
* Familiarity with FDA medical device regulations and Good Distribution Practices to ensure compliance and quality standards.
* Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in Excel and data analysis to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
