Care Leadership Role
Clinical Nurse Managers play a pivotal role in the delivery of exceptional care to residents, ensuring that their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs are met. This leadership position involves overseeing the implementation of best practices, promoting innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence within the nursing team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading change initiatives, with particular focus on adhering to HIQA standards
* Exercising leadership, creativity, and innovation through collaboration with staff and residents
* Conducting audits of all aspects of nursing care, including medication management, daily spot checks, and equipment maintenance
* Receiving, supervising, and overseeing new resident admissions
* Evaluating and addressing the care needs of residents based on their unique requirements
* Supporting and supervising care and nursing staff, including orientation, training, and performance evaluation
* Maintaining a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors
* Participating in daily handovers, ensuring effective communication among staff members
* Assuming responsibility as person-in-charge when required
Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must possess:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a nursing home setting in Ireland, coupled with at least 5 years' nursing experience
* Management experience, preferably in a similar setting
* Excellent communication skills, with high proficiency in English
* An interest in specialized areas of nursing, such as gerontology or dementia care
